Train Rail Inspection System:

ScanMaster Systems recently completed the installation of a rail inspection system for Israel Railways Ltd. The system is based on a mechanical trolley towed by a service car. The frame consists of two probe sleds, one for each rail, and an ultrasonic system. It uses ultrasonic waves to test for cracks and other flaws in the train rails, at a speed of 20 Km/hr. This is one of the leading PC-based low-cost systems in the world.

The same technology has been used for a high-speed PC-based system that was installed by ScanMaster in Germany for the Deutsche Bundesbahn and has been in service for several years. This is a multi-channel testing system, installed in an inspection car for increased speed of up to 100Km/hr. This system, because of its advanced capability of data acquisition can detect flaws on real time in train rails at a very high speed.

ScanMaster also supplied ultrasonic wheel inspection systems to several train wheel manufacturers, located in the United States, South Africa, and Germany which are able to test one wheel per minute.
