Thickness Measuring Device for Tubes

The device has been designed for the non-contact measurement of the wall thickness profile of tube sections.

Measuring Principle

A laser light line is projected onto the surface of the tube. The reflections on outer and inner surface of the tube are  projected onto a CCD-line sensor. The distance between these two reflections is evaluated as wall thickness.

The tube is clamped into a motor driven chuck. During the rotation, the thickness of the tube circumference is determined as function of the turning angle.

Structure

The device comprises the sensor head and the measuring electronics as well as the equipment for fixing and turning the tube.

The device is part of the modular system TC (tube control). In accordance with the customers requirements it will be linked with further equipment, for example trend display, selection, statistics, visualization and regulation.
