The device TMM is used for
measurement and control of gob weight in order to stabilize the gob
feeders.
Tasks
- gob weight measurement
- number of gobs per minute
determination
- gob weight control
- determination of the shape
- trend graphs display
- long time storage
Structure and
Measuring Principle
The device is made up of the camera
including protecting enclosure and cooling as well as the image
processing computer inside of the electronic enclosure. It can be placed
beside the blowing machine as well as in the control room.
Two types of the device exist:
- TMM (M) is suitable for rotating
blowing machines and presses
- TMM (L) is used for IS-machines.
TMM (M) takes the image of the gob by means
of a matrix camera. The image is transferred while the shear blades of
the cutter can be seen in the gob. TMM (L) is based on CCD line camera.
The image of the gob is taken during its fall from the cutter into the
gob distributor.
Operation
Any operation of the device is not
necessary, except the adjustment after job changes. The device TMM (M)
can be adapted to the different sizes of gobs by means of a motor driven
zoom lens.
Advantages
- non-contact measurement
- application at all types of gob
feeders
- influence of human factor is reduced
- detailed production analysis and
trouble shooting
- reduced waste rate reduced
run-in-time

TMM (L) at a double gob
feeder: row cameras take the
picture from a gob each during
the fall. Water cooling,
air flushing and a robust
enclosure provide protection
of the electronics.
The operation interface shows the
trend of the weight
and gob shape.
