Contactless Thickness Measuring Device for Containers
The device has been newly developed for the contactless wall thickness measurement of container glass.

Contactless Measuring Principle

The device works contactless. A light line is projected onto the glass surface. The reflections at front and rear side of the glass are displayed on CCD line sensors and their distances are evaluated.

Structure and Operation

The device consists of a measuring gauge head, measuring electronics as well as the adjustments for positioning of the gauge head.

The bottle is put on a turning plate and centered by using a lever. After pressing the start button the bottle is turned once within 4 seconds.

The adjustment after job change isn't complicated at all and carried out within minutes. The measuring height is adjusted by using the motor drive. The distance and inclination of the sensors to the container surface are adjusted manually.

Benefits

Quality : By means of the features location and value of the smallest thickness, the wall thickness profile can be equalized for every section of the IS machine. That way, quality is produced.
Time profit: The quality feature of the thickness profile can be criticized immediately at the hot container. The transportation time through the lehr is saved.
Working protection: There is clearly less danger of injuries compared with conventional methods.
Precision: The measuring accuracy of the device toward mechanical measuring keys is 0.1 mm. The ability to reproduce is 0.01 mm. Measurement in the range of label protection as well as engravings are possible.
