Length Measurement at Container Glass
 
The device LM (C) has been designed
  • to measure the length of glass containers,
  • to control the tolerances,
  • to sort out faulty containers,
  • to process the measured values and provide statistics.
This is being done at a conveyor belt.

Measuring Principle

The device determines the gap between the upper edge of the container and the straight edge. Its prolongation rests on the conveyor belt and compensates the change in its thickness. A row camera measures the gap. The camera is linked with a microcomputer which carries out all the functions of measuring. In addition, it provides the selection of faulty containers and statistics.

Structure

The modular structure guarantees a simple arrangement on the conveyor belt. It is easy to maintain and can be combined with other testing systems.

Service and Operation

Particular emphasis was placed on operator convenience:

  • a telecentric system ensures that changes in the position of the container on the conveyor belt do not have any impact on the result of measurement,
  • the installation can be done easily and an adjustment is not required even after job changes,
  • a rugged row camera from our own production is in accordance with the requirements of the device; some displays make service easy to handle.
